🍕 A Pizza Night in the Garden with Guests from Utah – A Slice of Italian Mediterranean Cuisine
This week, we had the pleasure of hosting a couple from Salt Lake City, Utah for a private Pizza Cooking Class in our garden. The weather was warm, the dough was rising, and the air was filled with laughter and the scent of fresh basil and cold-pressed olive oil.
What started as a simple pizza-making night turned into one of those magical Mediterranean Cooking Classes that goes beyond just food. As we kneaded, baked, and tasted, we found ourselves talking about travel, family, and of course – olive oil and pasta!
Our guests were curious about the difference between cold-pressed or hot-pressed olive oil, and we explained how we always use organic olive oil – specifically, our Coratina olive oil, rich in polyphenols and flavor. We even opened a bottle of Italian extra virgin olive oil to drizzle over their pizza just out of the oven. (Yes, one of the olive oil bottles was already empty by the end of the evening!)
For the starter, we served Organic Rigati Pasta GRANORO, topped with Demeter tomato sauce and a bit of our own ready-made sauce – a true taste of Italian Mediterranean cuisine. Our guests were amazed at the simplicity and quality of ingredients. They asked where to buy pasta, and we pointed them to our favorite Italian pasta online shop featuring regional favorites like Pache pasta and other Italian pasta varieties.
To end the night, we offered a few organic hazelnuts from Piedmont, both shelled and whole – a light, authentic treat from northern Italy. These organic Piedmont hazelnuts paired perfectly with a small glass of sweet wine under the stars.
It was one of those evenings that reminds us why we love offering both in-person and Online Mediterranean Cooking Classes. Even if we live across oceans, these shared moments around food connect us deeply.
